Presented at the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte in Munich in February 2024, Travelling Back explores the colonial entanglements of scientific expeditions through a critical re-reading of a Bavarian journey across Brazil in the early 19th century. Curated by Sabrina Moura, the exhibition combines historical archives with contemporary art to interrogate the narratives, collections, and human stories shaped by this transcontinental encounter.
Presented at the Museu Nacional da República in Brasília from May to August 2023, Aqui Estou examined the narratives embedded in the museum’s collection through a site-specific lens. Curated by Sabrina Moura, the exhibition brought together 55 works that reflected on corporeality, territory, and belonging, foregrounding perspectives often marginalized in dominant art historical discourses. Through a nuanced curatorial approach, the show invited audiences to rethink the role of the museum as a producer of situated knowledge and as a space for plural forms of expression rooted in the Central-West region of Brazil.
Nome Próprio marks the first solo exhibition of artist Sasha Huber in Brazil. Presented in 2019, the exhibition was curated by Sabrina Moura, with a public program curated by Lorena Vicini. It brings together works from Huber’s ongoing project Demounting Louis Agassiz, which critically reflects on the colonial legacies embedded in scientific narratives and visual archives.
The exhibition was supported by the Pro Helvetia Foundation, through the program COINCIDENCIA – Cultural Exchanges between Switzerland and South America, in partnership with Frame Contemporary Art Finland and Capacete. The public program was realized with the support of the Goethe-Institut Rio de Janeiro.
Presented at the Museu da Imagem e do Som in São Paulo in November 2019, France eMotion blended photography and augmented reality to celebrate the richness of French cultural heritage. Designed by Vasto in collaboration with Aliança Francesa, the exhibition featured a series of illuminated, floating lozenge panels that created an immersive environment for viewing 35 animated photographs of iconic French sites. Through a custom mobile app, visitors encountered a virtual character that brought each image to life—inviting audiences to explore the intersection of art, technology, and storytelling in a uniquely engaging way.
